Mentor Finance mediates funding of 50 M $ green energy projects

Mentor Finance, subsidiary of Mentor Group Holdings SRL, has become the representative of an important fund aiming to finance Green energy projects and unique startup companies which are activating in Eastern Europe. The fund is focused on projects in an average volume of 50 million dollars, but will also consider lower volume.

"Though we witness a financial crisis all over the world, investors are on the search for interesting and safe opportunities. The rush for real estate is to be replaced by new exciting channels, such as green energy, and we have the occasion to take part of this change as insiders, due to the expansion of the group‘s activities," said Osnat Peled, Marketing director of Mentor Group Holdings.

During the past few years, the number of European energy companies has increased and the investments in renewable energy are setting new records year after year. Based on statistical data analysis, the European energy market registered the most transactions, being the most active in the field.

Technologies such as wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, and small hydro now provide hundreds of gigawatts of electricity generating capacity, reports find. Also, according to recent studies, renewable sources produce about 2% of the world's energy, accounting for about 18% of world investment in power generation, with wind generation at the investment forefront. Solar and bio-fuel energy technologies grew even more quickly than wind.

More and more entrepreneurs want to build hydra-electric power stations, Aeolian turbines, fields of solar panels or biomass based plants. Renewable energy companies need cash up front to fund their investments or projects.

Studies show that due to its soil, landscape and climate, Romania has rich resources in hydro power, wind energy, biomass, solar and geothermal energy. Each geographical area in the country offers a different energy potential: solar energy in the south, wind in the east, biomass in Transylvania and geothermal energy in mountainous areas and the west.

"The increasing energy dependence, together with the potentiality energy production of the region, has added further to make us believe we can find in Romania the right companies to finance. Also, the cost / benefits report has motivated us and, nevertheless, the great minds here," added Peled.

Mentor Finance will sort and choose the most potential project in order to present it to the fund’s representatives. The companies interested in being financed by the fund are requested to send an educative summery to Mentor Finance’s headquarters.
